Jie Li et al. "Cardiovascular health of offspring conceived by assisted reproduction technology: a comprehensive review." Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine. 16 Jan 2024.
Summary: "[E]merging evidence suggests an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in offspring conceived using ART. In this review, we discuss the epigenetic mechanisms involved in altered DNA methylation, histone modification, and microRNA expression, as well as imprinting disorders. We also summarize studies on cardiovascular changes and other risk factors for cardiovascular disease, such as adverse intrauterine environments, perinatal complications, and altered metabolism following assisted reproductive technology (ART). Finally, we emphasize the epigenetic mechanisms underlying the increased risk of CVD in offspring conceived through ART, which could contribute to the early diagnosis and prevention of CVD in the ART population."

Conclusion: "Our findings highlight a small but critical group of microorganisms that may play an important role in male fertility; namely, Lactobacillus iners and members of the genus Pseudomonas. ..."

Conclusion: "This study shows that very few patients have made the decision to use or relinquish their eggs. Strategies may be needed to address the prolonged storage of surplus eggs, and ensure that patients are supported to make decisions regarding the fate of their eggs which align with their preferences and values."
