Egg freezing in an age of uncertainty
HeyReprotech is still paused, but I wanted to pop in to mention that last week, my documentary on egg freezing — Egg Freezing in an Age of Uncertainty — aired on CBC radio’s IDEAS.
The documentary features four guests:
Toronto lawyer Salima Fakirani, who decided to freeze her eggs at age 31
Lucy van de Wiel, a senior lecturer in global health and social medicine at King’s College London
(Read her excellent book, Freezing Fertility: Oocyte Cryopreservation and the Gender Politics of Aging )
Marcia Inhorn, an anthropologist at Yale University
(Read her excellent book, Motherhood on Ice: The Mating Gap and Why Women Freeze Their Eggs)
Katie Hammond, a law professor at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University
(Read her excellent paper, Evaluating Elective Egg Freezing Consent Materials From Canadian Fertility Clinics)
